THE PERSEID METEOR SHOWER

A fireball streaks across the sky and another meteor descends the sky during the Perseid Meteor shower. The Perseids were a star gazers delight at Big Cypress National Preserve and across most of North America as well. With clear skies and a new moon the skies were dark enough to see one of nature's best shows of the year. The Perseid Meteor Shower is considered to be one of the best meteor showers of the year due to the number of meteors and fireballs visible. As with most celestial events, sometimes the weather cooperates and sometimes it doesn't but for this one the conditions were perfect!
