MOONRISE IN PARADISE
On a picturesque spring evening, a radiant full moon ascends above the Atlantic Ocean at Lauderdale by the Sea. This particular full moon, known as the Worm Moon, coincided with the Spring Equinox—a rare alignment when both the moon and the sun rise precisely due east. The Worm Moon, the first full moon of spring, derives its name from the old Farmer's Almanac, marking the season when earthworms resurface, stirred by the warming embrace of spring's soil.
My name is Mark Andrew Thomas and I'm a photographer and filmmaker currently residing in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I grew up in Florida right next to the Everglades and although I photograph a wide variety of subjects and locations, the Florida Everglades will always be my first love.
