KINGDOM OF THE GATOR
A massive 14 foot alligator slides into a creek at dusk in Everglades National Park, Florida. I normally don't like to use flash photography on animals but this alligator was actually across the creek and was far enough away that I felt less guilty lol. I went to bed that night still thinking about this amazing prehistoric and primeval creature. As I drifted off to sleep I imagined it silently cruising the waters of the Everglades, perhaps at that very moment, under the same moon and stars I could see out of my bedroom window. It was a great way to fall asleep :)
My name is Mark Andrew Thomas and I'm a photographer and filmmaker currently residing in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I grew up in Florida right next to the Everglades and although I photograph a wide variety of subjects and locations, the Florida Everglades will always be my first love.
