Description
ENTRANCE TO EVERGLADES NATIONAL PARK
The entrance to Everglades National Park on a clear starry night with the moon glowing above the landscape is one of my favorite things to see when I drive into the park. Everglades National Park is one of the few places in Florida where you can still see the Milky Way. The dark skies are perfect for stargazing and observing meteor showers and other celestial events. There are also several campgrounds within the park as well as several visitor centers to visit during the day. You can see plenty of wildlife here including the unofficial state mascot the American Alligator as well as the American Crocodile. Everglades National Park is the only place in the world where alligators and crocodiles coexist. Regardless, there is something for everyone here and a visit to the park is always rewarding and a nice alternative to the usual tourist destinations.
