NORTHERN HARRIER HAWK

A female Northern Harrier pauses for a moment in the Florida Everglades. Northern Harriers are known for their owl like face and by the way they hunt. Harriers (like the plane) hover and then dive for their prey. It is fascinating to watch but they are among the more difficult birds to photograph in flight since they move so fast.

My name is Mark Andrew Thomas and I'm a photographer and filmmaker currently residing in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I grew up in Florida right next to the Everglades and although I photograph a wide variety of subjects and locations, the Florida Everglades will always be my first love.
