An early morning Milky Way above the Z Tree in Everglades National Park. The Z Tree is actually a dwarf cypress tree and nobody really knows how it got it's shape. Some say it was an old Native American trail marker while others say it's shape is a natural phenomenon. The consensus is that it is natural but whatever the reason the speculation only adds to the mystery of this ancient and beautiful tree.
My name is Mark Andrew Thomas and I'm a photographer and filmmaker currently residing in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I grew up in Florida right next to the Everglades and although I photograph a wide variety of subjects and locations, the Florida Everglades will always be my first love.
