Description
STRAWBERRY MOON
The full moon rises over the Atlantic Ocean near Fort Lauderdale Beach. Native Americans named each moon after the characteristics of the month and most of the strawberries are picked in June. For this reason the first full moon in June is called the Strawberry Moon. It has nothing to do with the look of the moon such as when an eclipse occurs. A total eclipse of the moon is called a Blood Moon because the moon takes on a reddish glow.
