NIGHT AT PIRATE'S LAGOON
The last light of a fiery sunset brings out the silhouette of a mysterious pirate ship with glowing lanterns near a tropical island in this digital composite. A sliver of a crescent moon rises behind the palm trees overlooking a secluded lagoon as the waves crash against the sandy beach.
When I was a kid I wanted to work for Disney. I wanted to make backdrops and create magical worlds from scratch. Problem is you have to be able to draw LOL. My favourite was Pirates of the Caribbean and the amazing backdrops with glowing pirate ships in the distance against the night sky. The Haunted Mansion was a close second. I'm old enough to remember the ticket books and the "E" ticket rides were the best. The Disney parks and colourful storybooks had a profound effect on me and influences my work even today.
This photo is a composite of several different images that were photographed especially for this scene which was residing in my imagination...
