Description
The lunar eclipse as seen from the Florida Everglades. While several areas of the world including the western United States were treated to the total lunar eclipse, here in Florida we were only able to see a partial eclipse until the moon set.
An eclipse occurs when the shadow of the earth passes across the moon and when totality occurs, the entire moon is bathed in a red color hence the name "Blood Moon". The next chance to see a Blood Moon will be in September when most of the United States will see the total eclipse.
This lunar eclipse time-lapse was photographed in the Florida Everglades during a partial lunar eclipse. Away from civilization, with no sounds except for crickets, and the glow coming from alligators eyes, it was an amazing sight to see.
