KINGDOM OF THE HAWK
A majestic and regal looking juvenile Red Shouldered Hawk surveys it's kingdom at sunset while perched in a tree in the Florida Everglades. I heard it's cry from over a mile away while hiking which eventually led me to the tree it was in which was right alongside the path I was walking. It didn't seem to care whether I was there or not so I was able to capture several photos of this beautiful bird. It eventually flew off and landed in another tree but that one was too far off and I also didn't want to annoy the hawk so I went on my way. Respecting wildlife and their boundaries is very important to me as a photographer and I always take great care to be as unobtrusive as possible.
