GATOR BABY
A one day old baby alligator explores the nest mound it hatched from in the Florida Everglades. I photographed this while filming my upcoming documentary film Birth of a Predator and the day before was lucky enough to watch the nest hatch. Alligator mothers are very attentive and protective of their young and will guard them for a year and sometimes longer.
My name is Mark Andrew Thomas and I'm a photographer and filmmaker currently residing in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I grew up in Florida right next to the Everglades and although I photograph a wide variety of subjects and locations, the Florida Everglades will always be my first love.
