CARNIVALE'
A lakeside carnival entertains happy fairgoers. I loved the reflections of the rides in the water and had to wait quite a while for all of the rides to be in motion at once.
There's something about a fair that always brings out the child in me. The sights, the sounds, the unmistakable smell of carnival food, it all adds up to a sensory overload and brings back my childhood.
I once had one of those pop-up storybooks when I was a kid. You know, the ones came with a record so you could follow along, and I'll never forget the images in that book. I can see the influences from all of those books in some of my work....even today. I'm so grateful that I read books as a child and wasn't glued to the television. I may not have the vivid imagination I do today, and it's that inspiration that fuels my creativity.
